Welcome to Cambridge Rock Choir

Cambridge Rock Choir is a feel-good rock, pop and motown community choir that rehearses on
- Monday evenings at Queen Edith's Chapel on Wulfstan Way, CB1 8QN from 6:15-7:45pm or 8-9:30pm
- Tuesday evenings from 8-9:30pm at The Church of The Good Shepherd on Mansel Way, CB4 2ET

We have been running since September 2011 under the supervision of the highly talented musician Carrie Rawlings and you can book in for a free taster at: http://www.rockchoir.com To come along you can be any age from 12 upwards, you don't have to have any previous experience or be able to read music but you must have a zest for fun & learning in a professional yet engaging environment. We work hard but have a great time doing it!

Originally born in Mill Road Hospital in Cambridge, Carrie showed an early interest in music so went on and trained in Performing Arts at Winchester University and then at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London. She has performed worldwide as an actress, singer and musician but has always had an avid interest in teaching and leading others in a musical capacity.

Rock Choir is a national phenomenon but the above choirs regularly take part in both local and national events. In just one year we have been part of a surprise flashmob for BBC's Sport Relief Charity in The Grand Arcade, last year's Olympic festivites on Parkers Piece, we broke a Guinness world Record in June 2012 as well as performing our own full scale summer show at Comberton Leisure in July http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYpuZM6F-hw&feature=relmfu. We have just performed on AngliaTV for a surprise Valentine Event for HeartFM (See it here: http://www.itv.com/news/anglia/update/2013-02-14/saying-it-with-a-song-on-valentines-day/) and we are now preparing for this Summer when we will perform at London's O2 Arena on Saturday 6th July 2013.

Joined Cambridge South Rock Choir a year ago, and it was the best decision I made! I've grown in confidence, made many new friends and most of all had a great time singing and having a laugh!

Rock Choir is just fantastic - fab songs, great people and you forget everything else for an hour and a half every week. Love it and missed it madly over Christmas. Can't wait to be back rockin' in a week!
