Having trained under club Sensei David Macintyre for over 13 years I can vouch for his impressive level of expertise and knowledge. This covers an extensive range of weapons as well as unarmed fighting styles. His teaching skills are excellent with Bunkai for all techniques carefully explained and demonstrated. He is a very patient and informative instructor who leads by example. I previously spent years looking for a decent weapons class and can whole heartedly recommend this club to anyone wishing to train with Japanese traditional weapons.

after going to meet sensei mcintyre and watching many of his club nights ive trained with and taken many of my martial arts friends . to work with him . hes a very experienced instructor .if you are intrested in weapons and there use .then this is someone whom will inspire you to be the best you can be .. history and use of weapons knowledge is fantastic ,if you ever get a chanch give him a chance ..from peter

I have trained with several instructors in kobudo over the years wanting to gain a further understanding of Japanese and Okinawan weaponry. My main martial arts studies are Iai Jutsu/Kenjutsu and it is always nice to learn weaponry from the opposite perspective. Sensei McIntyre took the time to visit our dojo after a personal invite and the visit was a big success, you will not find a more down to earth highly experienced instructor that knows his art and weapons inside out including the history of his art. If only other instructors were as friendly and sharing in these rare weapon arts.
