Welcome to 1st Bordon (Garrison) Scout Group

We offer Scouting in Bordon, Lindford & Whitehill for all ages from the age of 6 upwards to 18 years for youngsters and 18 onwards for Leaders & Helpers.
On Wednesday evenings.
Beavers 6 to 8 years. 5.30pm to 6.45pm.
Troop 10 1/2 to 14 years 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
Explorers 14 to 18 years 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
Thursday Evenings.
Cubs 8-10 1/2. years 7.00pm to 8.30pm.
We are always looking for adult leaders and our numbers are restricted at the moment due to a lack of leaders. If you can spare the time and are interested please use the email button below.
The leaders can have just as much fun as the youngsters just ask them! 
The Group is the oldest in the Rotherfield District as we have been going since 1910.

Membership Fees are chargeable per school term currently £30.
Children from 6 years upwards through to 18 years.

11th Sep - New Location by Guy Townsend

We are now meeting at Martinique House from 17th September.

20th Mar - Summer Camp 2014 by Guy Townsend

We are holding our second annual Group Camp in August this year at Broadstone Warren Scout Camp SIte in Sussex.

We will be using the facilities on site for climbing, grass sledging, potholing and orienteering.

20th Mar - Forestry Day by Guy Townsend

We are holding a Forestry Day at Deadwater Valley in March (2nd attempt as the first go was abandoned due to the weather in early February.

This is for the Troop and the Explorers.

20th Mar - Windy Camp 2013 by Guy Townsend

We held a sucessful Windy Camp at Bramdean in September attended my all ages.

20th Mar - Summer Camp 2013 by Guy Townsend

The Group held a Summer Camp for the first time for a number of years in Wareham in July/August. We went to Monkey World, the cinema and Brownsea Island the home of Scouting.

 2 of the Explorer Scouts were presented with their Cheif Scouts Platinum Award and 1 new Scout were invested  in front of the Baden Powell Stone. Photos are in the Gallery.

We also went Kayaking in Poole Harbour.

A good time was had by all and we are looking form to 2014's Summer Camp.

6th Jun - MP Visit May 2013 by Guy Townsend

The group hosted a visit from Damien Hinds MP and the Scouts, Cubs & Explorers put on a display of skills and some of the equipment. Mr Hinds looked at the accomodation and the equipment we have available and held discussions wioth the leaders about Scouting and the youngsters. AT the end of the evening he presented one of the Leaders with his 5 year award and another was presented with some traing certificates.

6th Jun - Troop Camp March 2013 by Guy Townsend

A number of the troop attended a short camp in March where they roughed it. Despite the fould weather (it rained most of the time) all enjoyed themselves and skills were developed. See gallery.

11th Feb - Hindhead Tunnel by Guy Townsend

Over 2 evenings the Cubs and Scouts paid visits to the Hindhead Tunnel Control Room.
They were shown the various equipment available to the operatives to monitor the traffic flow and the various safety systems. The CCTV was particularly impressive as they have a video wall to monitor several cameras at once.

24th Jan - Leader Training Camp November 2012 by Guy Townsend

A brave selection of Leaders from across the group had a skills training camp at Bramdean over the weekend 4th and 5th November. This gave the leaders a chance to try some new things out and hone some skilss and pool ideas etc.
Despite the torrential rain and strong wind which started during the night all the leaders managed to stay dry in 3 bivies and a tent between then.
The Group's 'Laregst Tent for One Person Award' is now held by Hanna (ASL) whose new bell tent was large enough for a dozen but Hana reported she was quite cozy in it, probably due to the stove she had in there with her!

24th Jan - Beaver Christmas Fun Day Poultons Park 2012 by Guy Townsend

The Beavers and a varuied selection of Leaders from the group attended the County Christmas Fun Day at Poultons Park on the 10th November 2012. The Beavers went on lots of the rides and the adults joined in occassionally (between Tea stops). The Beavers visited Father Christmas before receiving a present.

31st Jul - Windy Camp 2012 by Guy Townsend

The Group has just held this years Windy Camp at Bramdean Scout Camp Site.
We had an Olympic feel to things this year with the competions being sports related.
The Panthers were the winners by 600 points which is the largest margin we have evere had so well done to them. See photos in the Gallery.

31st May - District Jubilee Camp by Guy Townsend

The group joined the rest fo Rotherfield District Scouts at a Camp at Rotherfield Park to Celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee over the weekend 5th to 7th May 2012. Despite the weather there was approximately 350 people on site on the Saturday taking part in various activities including Air Rifle, Archey, Aerial Runway, Navigation, Welly Throwing, Quizzes and general Scouting Activities. All seemed to have a great time at this one off event. Photos available.

31st May - Community Week by Guy Townsend

The Cub Pack joined forces with the Brownies had a Litter Picking session on Wednesday 17th May as part of Community Week with Deadwater Valley and EHDC in the Deadwater Valley. The haul collected can be seen in the Photos section.

31st May - Diamond Jubilee Parade by Guy Townsend

Members of the Group will be supported the Bordon Garrison Jubilee Parade on the 5th June 2012.
We had a good turnout and there was an excellent turnout from the local area.
