About Otherworld North East Research Society

The Otherworld North East Research Society (OWNE) is a non-profit anomalous phenomena investigation and research association specialising in recording the physical phenomena often associated with alleged ghosts and hauntings. Our aim is to help promote the heritage of the North East of England's historical sites, blending local history research with field and documentary research into ghostly sightings and experiences. The OWNE Research Group operates as a data collection unit and do not use mediums, seances, talking boards or dowsing as standard practice during our venue-based investigations. We do not charge for field investigations into alleged paranormal activity.

Our activities include : Paranormal, Archaeology, Genealogy, Historical Research and Ghost Hunting.

Are you wanting to get involved with paranormal investigation and local history research in the North East of England? OWNE are a data collection and local history based group, so please don't expect what you see on TV. We are not here to promote 'spiritual development' etc - an important distinction from many other teams. Membership of OWNE exists on 3 levels, depending on exactly how involved you want to get!

Community Member, Free access to the website forums and limited e-book downloads etc
Affiliate Member, £6.50/year, access to OWNE anomalous photo albums, sound clips etc as well as free access to our Haunted History range of ebooks
Investigative, £20/year to cover insurance, this is full access and membership of the field research group (membership by approved application only)
