Highway Bowls Club

The Highway (Lawn Geen ) Bowls Club is part of the much larger Highway Sports & Recreation Club in Tile Hill, Coventry.

We have around 30 lady and 40 male members and are affiliated to the Warwickshire CBA and the EBA. We bowl both competitively and purely for the fun of it, playing friendly fixtures against other Warwickshire clubs whilst many members enter regional and national competitions. Any member who wants to play will get a regular game regardless of ability. Our green is recognised as one of the best in the area.

We pride ourselves on our Policy of inclusion, with several members from groups with special needs. We have a Child and Vulnerable Adults Protection Officer and a written Protection Policy that all members must formally accept.

We currently pay £10 a year for membership of the Sports and Recreation Club and £45 per year to the `Flat green bowls' section. Practice sessions are free and all members are given keys to the pavilion so that they may come at almost any time to enjoy the facilities. We have a modest match fee for formal matches to cover catering costs etc.

A typical Highway member also plays the Indoor Game, nearby, during the winter, or short mat bowls at the Highway. Many also play skittles -the Highway Club  hosts the large Coventry Skiittles League.
