Meirion Amateur Radio Society MARS was formed in 1979 to promote amateur radio in the South Gwynedd area. In 1980 the club gained a full class A licence callsign GW4LZP, this has now been updated to the latest club callsign GC4LZP.
Our monthly meetings are held in the Royal Ship Hotel in Dolgellau, these meetings start at 19.30 on the first Wednesday of each month. The only time this differs is in January when it is the second Wednesday to avoid new year.
MARS have an approved test centre, to hold all 3 licence exams, and our tutors hold various courses throughout the year.
