About Frocester Cricket Club
Frocester Cricket Club is one of the leading cricket clubs not only in Gloucestershire but in the whole of the South West of England. A Club Mark accredited club and Focus Club with excellent facilities both on and off the field.
The first XI have steadily climbed the leagues in recent years to reach the West of England Premier League and were crowned champions in 2007 and have finished in the top three in the years since.
The club field 5 teams on a Saturday and often 2 on a Sunday plus numerous midweek fixtures. We field youths teams in local leagues representing age levels from under 11's up to and including under 18's. The club also supports a ladies cricket section.
Frocester CC is hugely proud of it's successful youth structure, which attracts well in excess of 100 youngsters from the ages from 6 (and sometimes under) up to 18 for youth coaching, each age group are led by qualified coaches. A selected few from each group have gone on to represent the County at their respective age levels following trials.
The clubhouse is open all year with many social events, including several mens/ladies skittles sides during the autumn/winter months. Other activities include a ladies rounders team that practice most weeks during the summer and who play matches against other local sides. A very popular cycling club who tour the local area and sometimes beyond meet every Monday. The clubhouse at Pounds Close is also home to the local WI. These extra activities are open to new members and anyone interested should contact the club for further details.
Pounds Close is set in the picturesque setting of rural Gloucestershire and the ground is used by County representative sides at times during the summer.
We are privilaged to have a second ground located approximately a mile or so down St Peters Street. This is home to a first class playing area as used by the third and fourth XI's, a pavilion, outdoor nets and a football pitch during the atumn/winter months.
The facilities are available for hire, albeit subject to existing committments.
The ground is used during August Bank holiday weekend for the now legendary Frocester Beer Festival, organised by the Dursley Lions Club. This event has been running for over 30 years, raising money for local charities and the club.
Membership is open to all and is split between playing members and social members. Relevant fees available on request.
