We are a small engineering society with a leaning towards manufacture and operation of steam and diesel type locomotives and other forms of model engineering.
Our membership is open to all persons interested in helping to run and increase the scope of the club.
We promote a safe environment in which the railway is operated.
We have extensive facilities on-site such as clubhouse with workshop, loco storage, cafe/clubroom and have a ground level and raised track of multigauge construction.
We open the railway to the pubic on the second and fourth sundays of each month and are generally in attendance each wednesday and sunday for maintenance, improvement and for members to operate their own models.
Even if you are not interested in building models you can help on our open days and with routine maintenance as well as using the workshop for which training can be given.
We also visit other clubs and museums accross the north of england during the summer months with locomotives so come and join us and have some tuition in driving a steam locomotive.
