The Frickley Boxing Academy

The Frickley Boxing Academy was founded by Mr. Yusuf Kashif Hameed   ( Joseph Loftus )& Mr. Lee Brown in July 2005. It was set-up in South Elmsall at St. Marys Church Hall Buildings, Doncaster Road. Before moving to Hemsworth Community Fitness Centre. The boxing academy is a non-profit making club which offers free of charge training to anyone aged from 12 years. The academy is registered with reputable associations. The club has build-up a wide spread reputation within the boxing profession with regards to its training programmes it offers. The academy is the only one which offers free training sessions and also provides its new members with a free training kit which includes boxing shorts-hand-wraps & groin guard.

All coaching staff hold CRB Police checked and Child protection certificates to work with children and young adults.

Mr. Yusuf Kashif Hameed has won the 2010 Wakefield & District Coach of the year award. And the local heroes award 2010 for his work within the community with the local youths. He was nominated for The Wakefields Business awards 2011.

Mr. Lee Brown won the 2011 Wakefield & District Sports Award. So making this academt the only one in Yorkshire to have won the coaching award twice.

Mr. Yusuf Kashif Hameed ( British Muslim ) Is also involved with the ' Loftus Youth Project ' which helps the local community youths. The Youth project was founded in July 2011.

Mr. Lee Brown is also connected to his own club based at Upton.
