Welcome to Hereford Scottish Country Dance Club

Scottish country dancing is a very sociable and fun way to keep physically and mentally fit to wonderful music, being second only to swimming in using up calories! It has apparently been approved by the 'Happiness Project' featured in a TV series 'How to be happy' as extremely mentally healthy.

The Hereford Club started in 1949. A Physiotherapist at the hospital was encouraged by a former CO at RAF Credenhill to use Scottish dancing as a form of exercise for her patients.

It is open to anyone, you don't need to bring a partner, there is no age limit and you don't need to wear a kilt! Flat shoes however are recommended.

Newcomers and beginners are very welcome and full instruction will be given so come along and give it a try!

We meet once a week on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm between September and May, but also go to other clubs within Herefordshire and beyond for social dancing and good food!

Our meeting fees are very affordable, less than the gym or going to the cinema and there is a small annual subscription if you decide to become a member.

Easter dates (added 26th Mar 2012)

There will be no dancing on Maundy Thursday 5th April. The class will resume on Thursday 12th April and continue until Thursday 10th May 2012. Dancing will start again in September, date to be notified later.… (more)
