About Holsworthy Amateur Theatrical Society (HATS)
So we welcome a diverse range of people - actors, singers, dancers, musicians, directors (stage, musical and dancing), artists (for scenery, publications and dressing the foyer), dressmakers (we make and keep an enormous range of costumes), backstage (designers, constructors and stage-hands), electricians (lighting and sound and electrical) and a variety of people to help front of house (box office, stewards etc). From time to time we also need to be builders (to maintain and develop the 250 seat Theatre). All are volunteers. We run an annual panto (fourteen performances), one or two plays/comedies a year plus occasional other productions. Members aged fourteen and upwards of either sex are welcome - we have a large youth membership as well as many others. You don't need prior experience, just a willingness to learn, work and exploit your talent. Membership costs £6 p.a. / £2.50 youth members, plus a small joining fee. You don't need to join initially, just come along and find out about us, although you will have to join once you get more involved.
Our activities include : Amateur Dramatics, Theatre, Singing, Painting and Drawing, Bands, Music Groups, Needlework, Dressmaking, Orchestra and Dancing.
